MILLCREEK HIGH SCHOOL
COMMUNITY COUNCIL MEETING
MINUTES-NOVEMBER 16, 2015

WELCOME: Jill Bridges, Co-Chairman, welcomed council and expressed gratitude for their support.

ATTENDING: Jill Bridges, Kathy Hawkes, Rusty Holmes, Bobbi Mosteller, and Kaye Winters.
EXCUSED: Kathleen Cheshire and Aubrey Gregerson

 

SCHOOL PROGRAM REPORTS: Jill Bridges

  • GVC (Guaranteed & Viable Curriculum)- Teachers have to be accountable by putting their plan in writing & results in writing. 
  • Learning Walk Observations- Teachers visit other schools & programs to observe and learn from them.
  • District Early Out Days- Meet with teachers from other schools to collaborate and learn.
  • CSIP-Helps guide Curriculum.

 

RUSTY:

  • 2015-16 Handbook- Includes information on Trustlands Money, Community Councils rules and bylaws, and how Technology works in our school.
  • 2016-17 Calendar Proposal- Rusty Holmes & Kathy Laub working on it. Our school will go 145 days.
  • 2015-16 Trustlands- Kristi Bauman's salary to teach math & edgenuity are paid for from a portion of trustlands and the district combined.
  • Vote on redistribution of trustlands funds- Would include purchasing Alek's math Supplemental program which will help improvement for Sage testing. 
  • Also, voted to reassign money set aside for Edgenuity math program which the district is now funding, which adds up to $6,135.00. We would like to purchase Chromebooks and Cart for a mobile lab to help our math teachers. The cost for this is approximately $6,200.00. There is a carryover of $1,923.00.
  • Vote was taken, and all in attendance voted Yes. Jill Bridges approved & Bobbi Mosteller seconded it. Rusty Holmes called the 3 members not in attendance on December 7, 2015 and explained the above reassignment and Escarlette Robinson, Aubrey Gregerson, and Patty
  • Hansen all voted Yes.

 

NEXT YEAR'S FUNDING 2016-17- Please come with ideas to our next meeting of ways to use our funds to Improve Student Achievement and Growth.

ADDITIONAL ITEMS FOR DISCUSSION- There were no additional items for discussion.

NEXT MEETING- February 1, 2016 at 4:00 pm. In the Conference Room.
