This week is college week, and we are exploring the many options of continued education. Staff and students are wearing college shirts to show off their favorite colleges. But, the rootbeer floats were definitely a huge hit!
Ms. Parry, the Elks and her committee did an awesome job with some fun activities for Red Ribbon week. Students participated in various activities including one in which they solved riddles, puzzles, math problems and followed directions for key letters searching for clues on a scavenger hunt. The clues were tied to dealing with illegal substances, learning about different forms of abusive relationships and other important issues. Mr. Murphy’s TA were the winners and won the pizza party.
“Mr Murphy’s TA”
We were also very fortunate to have Dr. Foster and Michelle Tanner NP from the hospital emergency room provide an assembly on substance abuse. They spoke on the effects of substance abuse from a medical perspective and the tragic things they see daily at the ER relative to substance abuse. Dr. Foster emphasized how important it is to change environments and choose environments conducive to positive outcomes. Much Thanks for their time!
